SPECIALTY - Peep Housing Large - 1/4 inch - Hooded
The 1/4 inch peep housing is the most popular Specialty Archery peep for hunting.
The bare peep aperture is 17/64 inch, slightly larger than 1/4 inches.
The 1/4 inch Large Hooded Peep will directly accept 1/4 inch apertures, clarifiers, and verifiers (which are actually measured at 13/64 inches).
- The 37 degree peep is generally used on bows 40 inch Axle-to-Axle and shorter.
- The 45 degree peep is generally used on bows 40 inch Axle-to-Axle and longer.
With the 1/4 inch Peep Reducer #753-3 installed, the aperture can be reduced to 13/64 (included with this peep).
Use of the Specialty Archery Dual Aperture Wrench (#210078) is recommended for insertion of all apertures, verifiers, and clarifiers (included with this peep).
The optional 1/4 inch Clarifier and Verifier are available in various optical powers.
- Clarifiers sharpen the sight picture viewed through a scope lens.
- Verifiers sharpen the pins within a sight housing, with no lens.
NEED TO KNOW
CAUTION: High powered bows create a great amount of vibration. This may loosen verifiers, clarifiers and apertures over time.
Tighten your apertures before each use. If you hear a buzzing sound, this indicates a loose aperture.
You may use a small drop of Vibra-Tite VC 3 (Part #VC3), Teflon tape, bow wax, or any other non-permanent binding agent on the threads.
